Southern Indiana Eats 'n Treats - Feature August/September 2017: Bubba's 33


            Bubba’s 33 has made a huge local impact during the past year that they have been open in the Southern Indiana region. Conveniently located off of Interstate 65 and US 31 in Clarksville, they have proven to be a success in the community not only with locals but of those passing through as well.

            Bubba’s 33 came about in 2013 and was created by Kent Taylor, the founder and CEO of its parent company, Texas Roadhouse. By the time Bubba’s 33 made their way to Southern Indiana, there were 10 other locations that had been opened and operating successfully. According to Mike Stockton, managing partner of Bubba’s 33, they were waiting for the right spot. “This is just a great location and people seem to love it so far,” Stockton said. The headquarters for the parent company is located in Louisville so they already had established a footprint in our region.

            If you haven’t had the chance to experience Bubba’s 33 yet, it is a sports and rock & roll themed family restaurant, as stated by Stockton. Bubba’s 33 strives to not be just another restaurant. “We say legendary food and legendary service. I think a lot of times you see that and you have an expectation. We want to step up our game and be a level higher,” Stockton said. Stockton has been with Bubba’s 33 since February of 2015, but if you count his previous years with Texas Roadhouse, he has been with the company for about 10 years.

            When you walk into Bubba’s 33, one of the first things that you might notice, apart from being pleasantly greeted by the staff, are the wall-to-wall flat screen televisions. With more than 60 televisions inside, you are sure to never miss a game or event while you are at Bubba’s 33! They also offer patio seating which is perfect for the early days of fall that are right around the corner. Great company, outdoor seating and wall-to-wall televisions, what more could you ask for? Oh yeah! Food and beer!

            The food at Bubba’s 33 is not only delicious, it is all made from scratch as well! One of the most popular items on their menu is the Bubba’s Bacon Burger which is made of 33% bacon grind burger served on a bun that is baked in house. Their pizzas are also stone-baked. You definitely don’t want to miss their appetizers either! Their hand-breaded onion rings are a wonderful starter for a meeting with your coworkers, or just having a beer with your friends. Speaking of beer, Bubba’s 33 offers 40 beers, including 18 on tap. “We have the coldest beer in town,” Stockton said.

Bubba’s 33 didn’t forget about the kids when creating their menu, you will find all of their  favorites:  chicken fingers, lil cheeseburger, grilled cheese, lil pizza  and much more. What might come as a surprise is the kids’ pizza, it isn’t just some frozen pizza tossed in an oven. The kids’ pizza is hand-tossed and stone-baked much like the larger version!

            They have great weekly specials at Bubba’s 33. On Mondays, they offer $5.99 build-your-own burgers. You get to pick three toppings of your choice for this perfect burger. On Tuesdays, it’s Pizza and Pint night. A 12-inch pizza is only $9.99 and pints of beer are only $3.00. The best part is the pints of beer can be your choice of craft or domestic beer! Lastly, you don’t want to miss Margarita Wednesdays. For only $3.33, you can get your fiesta on with an 18-ounce margarita.

            Bubba’s 33 has hours that are anything but typical for a sports and rock & roll restaurant. Monday through Thursday, they are open 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, they are open all day from 11 a.m. until midnight. Sunday, they are open 11 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. Cold beer, great food and incredible service, can you really ask for anything more? You are sure to have an unforgettable experience at Bubba’s 33!
