With Thanksgiving and Christmas approaching, we know how hectic your schedule is going to get. That’s why we are bringing you these events that will help to relieve the craziness of the holiday season – and might even help to jump start your holiday shopping!

First on our list is the Downtown Merchants Holiday Preview Open House. Downtown Corydon is hosting their Downtown Open House on November 4th and 5th. There will be music, appetizers and even great deals in your favorite shops! They invite everyone to come out and take advantage of the deals that are going on!

After you’re done shopping in Downtown, head on over to 117 W. Walnut Street in Corydon for an Open House Wine Tasting at Red, White and Blush! The wine tasting will be on November 5th and will last from noon to 5pm. This is a FREE event. You can sample popular wines and beers from all over the world! You must be 21 and over to attend, and you must have a VALID ID.

Plan to have the kids with you? No problem! Instead of going to the wine tasting, head on over to Turtle Run Winery for their annual bonfire and hayrides. This will all take place on November 5th as well, from noon to 9pm. This day is also the final day of their concert series! They will be featuring Yes Pilot – a rock band from 1pm-4pm. This free event will also include outdoor grilling along with the bonfire and hayrides. These activities will be from 3-9pm. Turtle Run Winery is located at 940 St. Peters Church Road in Corydon.

November 5th is just full of fun events! Kinley’s Helping Hands Fall Festival is being held at Lincoln Hills Christian Church in Corydon including a BBQ & chili cook off, FREE kids’ activities, music, and hayrides. This is a FREE event to attend, but there is a $5 charge if you wish to enjoy a plate at the BBQ or chili dinners. There will also be a 50/50 and silent auction. The proceeds of this event will benefit The Patient Assistance Fund for Children of Harrison County.

Maybe all of these fall events just aren’t your thing, or maybe you’re still stuck in Halloween. Don’t worry, we have an event for you, too! On November 5th, there will be a ghost watch undertaking sleepover at the Culberston Mansion! Do you dare to sleep in the haunted mansion of historic New Albany? The price is $100 per adult (18 and up). There will be a candlelight dinner, tarot card readings, a ghost tour of the mansion, and a scavenger hunt. This sleepover will last from 6pm until 6am on the next day. Can you make it through the night?

If you can’t make it to the open house in Corydon, don’t worryDowntown Jeffersonville is hosting their Holiday Open House on November 10th from 6-9pm. Enjoy an evening of shopping, eating and drinking local and just mingling with your favorite merchants of Downtown Jeffersonville!
